GILS - Turkey is established in 2003 as  a joint venture between the present local management of GILS - Turkey  and GILS Worldwide - The Netherlands. The purpose of establishing GILS in Turkey is to meet the demands from the freight forwarding industry for the lcl movements from far East to Turkey.

 

In very short period of time GILS - Turkey became so successful that the freight forwarding ındustry started to support GILS by giving their lcl shipments from Far East to Turkey. Worldwide recognised companies such as K&N , Hellmann Group , Nora , Lider Group, Cargoline, ITA, Setrans diverted all their lcl shipments to GILS services from China to Turkey.

 

In 2007 , both GILS Worldwide Holdings  and the local managers agreed that the local management buy out the 50% from the GILS Holding and became the sole owner of GILS - Turkey.

 

GILS - Turkey is 100% owned by Serkan Erdem who has 20 years of experience in the NVOCC and Freight forwarding market.

 

With the new ownership structure GILS will expand more aggresively and in the year 2008 will open offices in Bulgaria , Egypt and Tunisia.

 

In the year 2009 , new offices are planned to be established in Ukraina and Romania.

 

Our strategy will be concentrating to only one target.. Our target is to serve to the freight forwarders for their LCL shipments from Far East to Turkey and become a regional leader in the worldwide lcl market.

 

As of today , GILS have regular lcl consolidation services from Shanghai , India , Hong Kong , Shenzen , Tianjin, Ningbo and Taiwan.  

 

New services from Korea and Singapore will start by the 1st of November 2007.
